The students from The Indian Heights School presented a school assembly on December 24, spreading the message of sharing and caring to celebrate the joyous festival of Christmas. Recent Activities - Another Moment of Pride Archana Narain received this award. With one more feather in the cap, this honor has further motivated and strengthened our goal of maintaining the same level of excellence. The assembly started with a prayer. A ramp walk stirred with passion highlighted the accolades won during the year. The school choir presented a medley of songs that were composed and sung on different occasions in the year The performances were a token of remembrance, a souvenir to cherish.
The Principal, Ms Archana Narain in her address, reminded the students that every new beginning comes with new challenges and new opportunities to be seized to move ahead in life. She further wished all the students a prosperous and bright new year ahead. The school management also conveyed new year greetings to students and teachers and applauded their effort.
Students were encouraged to read out the sentences in different languages in the morning assembly. Posters on those sentences were made by the students and put up all over the school. Students were motivated by the teachers to converse in the language of the day and share the sentences with their families at home. Students also wrote Gurumukhi and Bangla script. Students exhibited their creativity and showcased their skills in preparing wall magazine on different languages.
The purpose is to provide multilingual exposure to the students and promote national integration.
The assembly highlighted the importance of Christmas in our lives and aimed at giving the message of religious harmony and brotherhood. The programme commenced with morning prayers followed by the thought and vocabulary. Carol singing added more charm to the celebrations. A foot tapping dance performance on popular Christmas carols added a befitting musical treat.
The students were overwhelmed as they shared on stage the remarkable journey about the past glories of the school, its mission and vision. They also pledged to continue the saga of excellence thereby earning more laurels in the years to come. Students calculated the circumference of the earth by measuring the shortest shadow at local noon.
Using some basic trigonometry formula and mathematical calculations , students completed their experiment successfully. It was indeed a wonderful learning experience for our students. Madhu Gupta congratulated the students and appreciated their magnificent performance.
It was heartening to see our young athletes standing proudly wearing medals and holding their certificates. We are not alone. The whole universe is friendly to us and conspires only to give the best to those who dream and work. The entire audience was mesmerized by their performance and were excited to know about this thrilling scientific phenomenon.
The students were also enlightened about the facts pertaining to the topic such as how, when, where and why this phenomenon takes place across the globe. The Camp was beneficial for the students as they got an opportunity to know more about various aspects of eye care. The doctors brought well-equipped eye examination tools to examine the students effectively.

Important tips were shared with the students for maintaining eye hygiene and eye care. The objective of this camp was to spread awareness on eye disorder, their early detection and detect refractive errors and eye ailments.
The students raised queries which were attended by eye specialists. The camp turned out to be very beneficial for our students as they were exposed to many alarming and eye opening facts and information. The enthusiastic participants got an opportunity to exhibit their spoken talent and confidence. Children chose variety of topics for their recitation like nature, mother, teacher, school, animals, flowers, birds etc.
The eye-catching props added icing to the cake.
They appreciated and applauded the performance of the little participants. The students thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful oratory session. The festive spirit of Christmas is in the air so to add more to it the teachers of Little steps beautifully depicted the story of Rudolph, the Reindeer who possessed unusual luminous red nose on Monday, December 17, in the school auditorium.
The story was about red nosed Reindeer who wanted to pull the sleigh of Santa but because of his red, big and bright nose everybody made fun of him and did not let him to pull the sleigh. The students thoroughly enjoyed the story and learned the morale to respect the feelings of each other.
The senior student volunteers worked diligently to make this event a great success. The parents applauded the entire team of the school for organizing such an innovative and mind boggling celestial event.
These activities tested their Mental Math awareness and aptitude and enabled them to grasp new tricks and techniques related to the subject. They gained knowledge and developed interest in reading. The students wrote a book review on their favourite book and expressed their views on the books they read. They learned to analyse the books and its content keenly. The week helped to develop the core language skills i. We, at The Indian Heights school, perceive things, persevere for long, to concretize our dreams on the floor of realism and in reality.

Visit to Asiad Circus A visit to a circus is a field trip destination unlike any other. As an exploratory experience for any age group, the show explore possibilities and expand the limits of unlimited fun. Besides being a rich team-building experience the visit helps students to learn the basic skills of focus and concentration.
The show commenced with some young gymnasts, both boys and girl, showed their physical feats. Aerial performances of feats above the ground especially on a trapeze left everyone awestruck. Balancing acts on ropes and bicycles further ensured astate of equilibrium that promoted focus and fearlessness. They presented good fests on wheels. Their valiant and dangerous feats won loud cheer and applaud from all. Intermittent fests by the jokers made the spectators burst in to laughter.
They seemed to be quite an expert in the entire serious feats but they performed them in a funny way just to amuse the people. There were many other such daring and dangerous feats which keep the spectators spellbound. The visit to the circus was indeed a day full of adventure and thrilling experience as everyone came out full of praise for it.
The programme commenced with the felicitation of the revered guests Major Monica and Captain Garg by the school principal Ms. The students from guest schools presented a cultural programme varying from group song, dance performance and sharing facts about the home states. The interactive session between the two schools further enlightened everyone present about facts regarding the culture and topography of the states.
In her address she welcomed the initiative taken by Assam Rifles and urged the students to visit the school once again for a deeper understanding of education system and teaching learning practices prevalent in the school curriculum. As a token of appreciation, Assam Rifles presented a memento to the school that was received by the school principal, Ms Archana Narain. The programme concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.

Excellence our goal
It aimed to enhance the logical thinking among the students. The mathematics week gave chance to the students to showcase their creative, innovative and analytical skills in understanding of mathematics and its concepts. Technophile week was celebrated from November 12, to November 18, with the aim to enhance the understanding of science among the students. An Intra class Innovation Competition was also organized to develop the scientific spirit among the students.
The eager and enthusiastic participants exhibited their innovative and creative skills in the fun learning competition. Vistas The Indian Heights School, celebrated their tenth Annual Day Function on 23rd November, at their school premises amidst great fanfare and gusto.
The vibrant colours of the costumes and the decor further enhanced the festive fervour of the atmosphere. The audience, consisting of parents, members of the School Management Board and other dignitaries waited enthusiastically for the arrival of the chief guest, Lt.
Madhu Gupta and the Principal, Mrs. In her report, the Principal, highlighted the achievements of the school in all spheres of academics and curricular activities. She also listed the awards that the school had received for its infrastructure and other academic and curricular activities.
In her speech, the Principal credited the staff and students for their hard work and reiterated that the efforts would be on at a more vigorous and diligent pace to take the school to greater heights.
The prize distribution ceremony which followed, saw the winners of various categories being felicitated by the Chief Guest, Lt. Siddhant House won the best Trophy award for all round performance.
