As a future teacher, being able to shape the lives of the future generation, I desired to be a teacher that provides my students with an enjoyable education experience.
Using everyday situations to teach students English is a good way to see which students need help in which areas. These methods could help make students more active and independent when they practice speaking. A problem I see often in friends of mine that use English as their second language is their lack of confidence in their new language.
The prepared teacher role can be coupled with any of the other roles. Having pre-prepared work for the students and setting up simulations for them would help them learn more independently. The more students can do on their own in class the more likely they are to practice outside of class. They all complement each other and drive students to be more active with their new language.
Allan Richter was my eighth grade science teacher. I was never really interested in science until the year he was my teacher. He was very interactive with the class as a whole and with individual students.
When he would explain something there was always a video or activity to help keep the students interested and focused. The students had fun in class and made good grades in the process.
How I See Myself as a Teacher Essay
To this day that class is the only science class I remember thoroughly. Richter gave me a great example of how to turn the same boring information into fun and exciting challenges that help students absorb information, sometimes without even knowing. To have one student excited about learning a whole new language and confident in using it would make all of my time and effort well worth it.

At times the lectures, although fun, were long and could become repetitive. The class also tended to go off subject.
I would like to keep my class more organized. I would like to keep my lessons and activities from becoming stale to the students.
I see that method as being more effective in helping every student and identifying their individual problems. Encouraging independent practice and learning is the backbone to what I see my method being. After my class I want my students to stay excited about learning, to continue learning, and be confident in the English they already know. In the classroom I expect to take on every role.
My ultimate goal is to get students interested and keep them interested in English, even after the class is over.
